A window, not a reprint.
See Inside Detroit gathers what the city’s newsrooms are reporting and sends readers to the people who did the work. We publish a headline, a short original summary, the source, the date, and a link. That is the whole product.
Why this exists
Detroit is covered by dailies, TV desks, an independent city blog, a business journal, a public-radio newsroom, and neighborhood nonprofits. Nobody reads all of them before lunch. An aggregator that steals body copy is a parasite. An aggregator that cites clearly and ships traffic back is a table of contents.
What we will not do
We will not paste full articles. We will not strip ads from someone else’s CMS and dress them up as ours. We will not hide the source name in six-point gray. We will not run pop-unders, autoplay video, or “you won’t believe” slideshows.
What “tasteful advertising” means here
Labeled slots. Fixed sizes. Local and regional advertisers first — shops, clinics, trades, civic groups, lenders, venues. No political dark-money units without a disclaimer. No medical miracle claims. See the advertise page for sizes and the house rules.
Corrections
If a summary gets a fact wrong, the fix is to correct our sentence and leave the source link alone. Email ads@seeinsidedetroit.com with “Correction” in the subject until a dedicated desk address is live.
